Job purpose:
The focus of this role is to proactively represent the Sage investment solutions to financial advisors in the Mid-Atlantic region. This will involve the day-to-day management of the defined territory while actively working with financial advisors across the wirehouse, regional, independent, and RIA broker-dealer channels. The Regional Director will live in the territory and be expected to meet travel and activity expectations. The ideal candidate will be located within the Washington DC – Baltimore Region.
Success in this role will be determined by the ability to grow territory assets through thoughtful activities, proficiency with the Sage investment solutions, and the coordination of key Sage resources. This independent, results-oriented individual must demonstrate strong presentation skills, a sound working knowledge of financial products, and effective territory management.
Position Requirements and Responsibilities:
• 5+ years of outside sales experience with an investment management firm in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
• Develop and manage business relationships with financial advisors and centers of influence across all business channels.
• Apply a consultative sales approach across multiple financial advisory channels, using knowledge of the firm’s investment disciplines and processes to develop and maximize advisor relationships.
• Must have strong group presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, the firm's value proposition, professional capabilities, and product/service strengths.
• Exhibit excellent time management skills to identify prospective clients, prepare presentations, and follow up on territory activity.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the capital markets and investment strategies, particularly regarding fixed income, asset/liability management, and tactical asset allocation applications.
• Must be a self-starter who prioritizes and manages regional business development opportunities within the territory.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, economics, or finance.
• Series 65/66 required. CIMA or CFP is a plus but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience within the territory.
• Advanced understanding of fixed income and ETF asset management.
• Proficiency with CRM and related territory management tools.
